ABOUT NANCY

Nancy Weaver-Hoffman is a proud 8th generation Ashe Countian, mother, grandmother, shepherd, community activist, and artist. She recognizes the many problems facing our community and believes the blatant classism affects them all. 

 

Throughout her life, Nancy has experienced first-hand Ashe County’s struggle with the “haves and have-nots”, but sees that our community is now being faced with an influx of “have-a-lots”, and Nancy believes this creates even more division in a time when we should be working together. When the people in power don’t recognize the problem, they can’t make informed decisions to help their community. 

 

As an Ashe County Commissioner, Nancy can use her skills as a connector and communicator to work with experts on creative ways to solve these problems, and make a space for all of Ashe County to have a voice.
